Every quotation we give is based on your individual circumstances. However, our main costs remain the same whether you are moving to the next street or to the next town. Although there will be differences in fuel costs and travelling time, we still have the same packing, loading, unloading and unpacking to do and the same overheads such as insurance.
If possible it really helps us if you can “centralise” these types of items so that on your removal day we don’t spend time going around trying to establish what is coming or staying. If there is a large quantity of “outdoor” items (eg kids’ toys, flower pots, shed or garage contents) then we may use a separate lorry for these.
We would like you to pack and be responsible for your valuables (jewellery, watches, small clocks etc) which you should transport yourself but anything that you pack and we move is not covered by our insurances.
We are happy to take apart furniture that is designed to do this and to put it back together on arrival at the new address; often we have to do this in order to move items from the building and we would always put these things back together for you.
This will depend completely on the size and timing of your job; as I will normally come to view your property and to meet you prior to your move, I will then get a good idea of the staffing that will be required.
